The OFFICIAL VERSION 3.0 is a CD-ROM version released in 2002. It is still the official version of the Planner and is a white CD ROM with red lettering.

In 2005, the UPDATER CD-ROM was supplied to allow users to continue to download updates to the Ontario Curriculum. It was supplied on a separate CD-ROM and requires that you have the Official Version 2002 installed first.

Once the Official Version 2.0 and 2005 Update are installed, updates can be downloaded from our website.

Both the OFFICIAL VERSION 3.0 and the UPDATER CD-ROM is distributed free of charge to Ontario publicly-funded school boards and faculties of education (for staff and student labs) through the Ontario Educational Software Service representatives. A full run-time format CD-ROM of the Planner 2005 is available to:

• Pre-Service Teachers: The Ministry of Education provides a complimentary run-time format CD-ROM to pre-service teachers through their Ontario faculty of education upon initial publication (October 2005).
  
• Other Interested Parties: The run-time format CD-ROM is also available to independent schools and other organizations at a cost-recovery price.

The run-time version works exactly like the regular format CD-ROM as a stand-alone application. However, it differs in that it does not contain AppleWorks, (required to open some blackline master files and visual organizers) Otherwise, it is fully compatible with the regular format CD-ROM Units written in this version and can be exported and shared with the full Planner and vice versa.

• System Requirement Macintosh: CD-ROM Drive, System 7.x. up to OS X 10.1, 16 mb RAM, 150 free hard drive space.
  
• System Requirements Windows: CD-ROM Drive, Microsoft Windows 95+/NT/XP, 16 mb RAM, 150 mb free hard drive space.
